With a 4K camera, 3-axis gimbal system and Live HD View, the DJI Phantom 3 Professional allows you to easily take crisp aerial videos and images from the sky

Following a string of new Quadcopter releases, DJI unveils something a little different: a terrestrial-bound camera. The Osmo is based on the Zenmuse X3 camera and 3-axis gimbal hybrid first introduced with the Inspire 1. Its video recording tops out at DCI spec 4096 x 2160 4K, offering 24p and 25p frame rates at this setting. There is also a UHD (3840 x 2160) mode for 16:9 capture at up to 30p, a 2.7K mode, as well as full HD (1920 x 1080) at up to 120 fps, for serious slow motion work. It takes still photos at the 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor’s effective resolution of 12MP, with options for bursts of up to 7 shots and interval recording for time-lapse. Stills can be recorded in JPEG or DNG RAW.

Osmo features an ergonomic handgrip that puts all of the essential camera and gimbal controls at your fingertips. A smartphone holder attached via rosette allows you to monitor a live image, review footage and photos, and access advanced camera settings. To enhance Osmo’s potential, DJI will offer several mounting accessories. There will be a selfie-stick-style extension rod to help elevate the camera, a mini tripod, a bike handlebar clamp, and a suction cup intended for vehicle mounting.
